A few years before Mr Kennedy asked Mrs Kennedy to be his wife. She said yes but with some minor stipulations. He had to ask her dad for his blessing. Mr. Kennedy did not think this was important so she refused to marry him. It took him a few years to realize how important it was to get her fathers blessing. But when he did, they were married in only a few short months.
